Rick Warren to Resume Preaching This Weekend, After 4 Months of Grieving Son’s Death

Pastor of Saddleback Church and author of bestselling book, Purpose Driven Life,  is set to resume preaching duties this weekend in his church four months after he lost his last son, Matthew, to a tragic suicide.

Rick Warren made the announcement on Tuesday via his twitter account, saying he would begin preaching again this weekend, the 27th and 28th of July.

Saddleback Church announced Pastor Rick’s return stating, “Join us this weekend for Pastor Rick’s highly anticipated and long-awaited return. Rick’s presence has been greatly missed, and we are excited to welcome him back for a full weekend of services. You won’t want to miss his special message that will inspire and speak to your heart.”

The Evangelical preacher, who is arguably one of the most influential pastors in the world will return to the pulpit with a sermon series titled: ‘How to Get Through What You are Going Through.’

Mathew Warren youngest son of Rick and Kay committed suicide on April 5 after years of suffering with mental illness. On July 18, Matthew Warren would have turned 28.
